Vinay, an Honours graduate from Cardiff University in 2014, completed his foundation training in Borrowash, Derbyshire, and advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Kings Lynn. Originally from Nottingham, he returned home, committed to postgraduate education, obtaining the MFDS qualification and becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.
Having a keen interest in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, Vinay has completed numerous courses, including the Advanced Aesthetic Restorative and Endodontic Dentistry course at Aspire Dental Academy, and the Comprehensive Aesthetic and Restorative Dental Course with Harley Street Dentist, Basil Mizrahi. He is passionate about teaching and has devoted time to training newly graduated dentists.
Vinay understands that children and nervous patients may be apprehensive and so he has a very patient, calming manner to make dental visits a fun and relaxing experience for the whole family. Outside of work, Vinay enjoys keeping fit, reading and spending time with his daughter. He is also a big Manchester United fan so tries to get to Old Trafford when he can.
Sheena graduated with Honours from Cardiff University in 2014 and completed her foundation training in London before diving into her passion for oral surgery. She secured an honorary Oral Surgery contract at Guys St Thomas’ Hospital in London Bridge and then furthered her expertise with a two-year stint in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Portsmouth, serving as a senior house officer.
During this time, Sheena demonstrated her dedication to continual improvement, obtaining her MFDS qualification and earning membership with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Oral Surgery, she strives to enhance patient care standards.
Additionally, Sheena values comprehensive dental care and has undertaken an Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry Course in London. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, particularly children.
When she’s not caught up in her professional commitments, Sheena dedicates her time to her little girl whilst also enjoying moments and creating memories with friends and family.
Alexandra, often referred to as “Mrs. Rae” or simply “Sandra”, established the dental practice in 1975 and has since been unwavering in her dedication to delivering exceptional, personalised care. While her primary focus remains on General Dentistry, her passion lies in preventive measures and conservation techniques. Over the years, she has forged deep connections with multiple generations of families, solidifying her role as an indispensable member of the practice.
Despite her enduring commitment to her patients, Sandra has chosen to scale back her clinical hours in recent times. This adjustment allows her the flexibility to prioritise moments with her family and explore interests beyond the realm of dentistry. Among her pursuits are travel adventures, leisurely walks, and cooking- we can’t wait to try her delights!
John is an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry, committed to maintaining and further developing his knowledge and skill. His focus is the care of his patients based on sharing and discussing all options with them regarding their treatment. He believes in providing high-quality, personalised and ethical dental care to his patients. John was an award-winning Vocational Trainer, spending over twenty-five years guiding newly graduated colleagues into the dental profession.
Having always been aware that many patients find their anxiety overpowering when dental care is needed, John has focussed his attention on helping all anxious patients, supporting them to feel empowered in the dental surgery. He is happy to spend time talking to anyone about their anxiety. Building trust is essential to receiving excellent care.
Away from the Practice, John enjoys walking through our surrounding countryside, with friends or alone. We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of England. Being a practical person, John enjoys DIY projects around his home and wider afield.
Hind is a devoted dental care professional with a wealth of postgraduate experience and experience in the field of clinical and academic dentistry since 2004. With a fervent dedication to promoting dental health on both an individual and community level, she strives to prevent and treat dental diseases while educating parents on oral hygiene and preventive techniques. Her commitment to advancing oral health led her to pursue a Doctorate in Dental Public Health in 2015, complemented by a Master’s degree in Public Health and a diploma in Epidemiology. Hind’s contribution to research and development include co-authoring publications with esteemed organisations such as the World Health Organisation and the World Bank. Grounded in both clinical practice and public health, she is devoted to enhancing community well-being through oral hygiene and preventative care initiatives. Beyond her professional pursuits, Hind is a wife and a mother to three wonderful children. In her leisure time, she finds joy in travel, leveraging her innate organisational skills, and indulging her passion for interior design.
Maria is a passionate dental care professional with a wealth of experience under her belt. Graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Maria’s journey continued as she pursued further training in hygiene, earning her a spot on the GDC register in 2021. With a dedication to enhancing oral hygiene, Maria’s has a nurturing and compassionate approach to help educate patients and optimise their oral health and helping those with the aim to enhance aesthetics.
After a fulfilling maternity leave, Maria is thrilled to announce her return in May 2024, eager to reconnect with all her valued patients. Welcoming a bundle of joy into her life, Maria cherishes every moment with her little boy, despite the whirlwind of parenthood. Amidst the joys of motherhood, Maria enjoys diving into many hobbies such as art, travelling, dancing and cooking!
Hazel holds the title of our second longest-serving team member, just behind Mrs. Rae. In 1983, she made the move from Stirling, Scotland, to Nottingham and joined Holly Tree House Dental Practice. Having trained and worked as a Dental Nurse since 1978, Hazel’s wealth of experience makes her a true pro in our eyes. While she still actively practices dental nursing and maintains her qualifications, you’ll often find her stationed at the front desk, warmly engaging with patients and ensuring their comfort throughout their visit.
Her dedication extends to guaranteeing that every step of the patient journey, from arrival to the completion of treatment, is as seamless as possible. Outside of work, Hazel’s weekends are spent with her son and creating memories with her grandchildren. Having a little dog, she enjoys leisurely walks that keep her active and energised.
Kay attained her dental nursing qualification in 2010, with the passion to deliver empathetic care, particularly for patients who experience anxiety or require specialised attention.
She finds fulfilment in engaging with patients throughout their entire journey, whether it’s providing support before, during, or after procedures such as cosmetic enhancements, Invisalign treatments, or complex endodontic interventions like root canal therapy. Driven by her dedication to alleviating patient apprehension, Kay has enrolled on a sedation course, aiming to enhance her ability to offer reassurance and comfort to those in need.
In her leisurely time, Kay’s a bit of a foodie – she knows all the best spots! But don’t worry, she balances it out by staying active, like cruising around on roller skates. And when the sun’s out, you’ll find her soaking up good vibes at music festivals, gigs, or exploring cool places around the country.
Milda is a dedicated professional who embarked on her journey in the UK in 2007. With over 12 years of experience as a dental nurse, she has honed her skills and knowledge since obtaining her dental nurse diploma from West Suffolk College. Prior to transitioning into the dental field, Milda spent over 5 years working in care, demonstrating her commitment to helping others.
In addition to her work in the dental industry, Milda has a passion for the arts and is currently pursuing her studies in the history of arts. In her free time, she indulges in creative pursuits such as painting and drawing, showcasing her artistic talents. Milda also has a unique hobby of beekeeping, which allows her to engage with nature and contribute to environmental sustainability.
