Dental Bridges Nottingham

Dental bridges are used to replace missing teeth by connecting a false tooth to nearby natural teeth. There are two main types:

Traditional bridges: These use crowns on neighbouring teeth to support the false tooth.

Maryland bridges: These attach the false tooth to the back of the adjacent tooth, often without much preparation. This method is conservative and requires minimal to no alteration to the tooth.

The bridge construction process usually involves two appointments. During the first appointment, the teeth are prepared according to the chosen bridge type. The dentist may take an impression or digital scan of your teeth to send to the lab for bridge fabrication. A temporary bridge is provided to wear until the next appointment, typically scheduled around two weeks later. At the second appointment, the temporary bridge is removed, and the final fixed bridge is placed.
